The mechanics aren't awful, like we're not talking about a kineticist Azata level of nothingburger here but it really suffers from the curse of being a lategame mythic path. The Golden Dragon Mythic Path, which is simply as cool because it sounds, is without doubt one of the most tough to unlock, requiring you to select a special path first and unlock it additional down the road.However, when you unlock your mythic level 8 the game gives you a plot reason to want to change your existing path, so changing into either legend or gold dragon isn't completely random. Surprisingly, there are a couple relevant dragons in act V, so your path still feels tied into the plot somewhat. .
